Jennifer Aniston To Put Up Own Production Company

The really smart stars do it, with varying degrees of success. Sandra Bullock, for example, has her own Fortis Films, which has produced the majority of her films since the late 90s, including her biggest solo starrer “Miss Congeniality”. If one beloved girl-next-door can do it, why not another?

So our favourite former “Friends” star has decided to set up a new production company with her business partner Kristin Hahn. Variety has reported that the company will be called Echo Films, and they have a “first-look” production deal with Universal Pictures. Most of the projects to be developed will have Aniston in the starring role, which is the best way to launch the company in terms of ease of access to talent, and star power.

According to the 39-year-old Golden Globe and Emmy winning actress, they are “drawn to stories about people finding their voice and finding their way because they help us as listeners and viewers do what we feel we’re all trying to do, which is making sense of our lives through the stories of others.”

Well, it remains to be seen if they will want to stray from the successful romantic comedy formula for Ms. Aniston this early in the company’s inception. Jennifer has not been averse to stretching her acting talents before, so one day I’m sure we’ll get something other than a rom-com from Echo Films.
